Plot

Synopsis

Kannan and Dasappan are two rowdies in their village. Shathrugnan is in love with Dasappan’ s sister, Devootty, but she is not interested in him. Shathru joins Kannan’s and Dasappan’s firm, KD & Company, as the manager, in an attempt to win the love of Devootty. KD & Company keeps as hostage a music troupe who comes to their village to perform. The main singer of that troupe, Sangeetha, gets expelled from her home because of this and Kannan and Dasappan give her refuge, at the insistence of Devootty.

Meenakshi and Kannan are in love. But due to some misunderstanding, Dasappan falls in love with Meenakshi and Sangeetha falls in love with Kannan. Shathru takes the responsibility of sorting it out and linking Dasappan with Sangeetha. In the chaos and confusions that follows, he manages to be victorious and wins his lady love Devootty too.

Gopan (Jayaram) is living with his 6 year old son Ashok (Kalidasan Jayaram). His neighbor Celin (Kavya Madhavan) falls in love with him. But he reveals that Ashok’s mom is alive and he narrates the story.

Asha Lakshmi (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) is Ashok’s mother. Gopan and Asha were in love before they got married. Asha is from a rich family but Gopan was just a videographer at a local studio. Asha, an admired classical dance artist prior to her marriage, left her career to lead a life with Gopan, becoming a simple housewife. Maya Varma (Bhanupriya), once a famous classical dance artist, learns of Asha’s talent and asks her to join her dance troupe. Asha’s aspiring career starts to conflict with the peaceful life she had with Gopan and their child; this, fueled by tensions between Gopan and Asha’s father, results in Gopan leaving with Ashok.

Subhash Chandra Bose aka Kochu Kurup heard a phone call by a teenage girl named Padmaja ‘Pappi’ Warrier and soon falls in love with her. But his parents send him to Bangalore to his best friend Kartik aka Aniyankutty (Dileep), who is a rich womanizer. Aniyankutty also falls in love with Pappi, but he does not disclose this to Kochu Kurup. Kochu Kurup’s father brings a marriage alliance to him, but he says that he is not interested, not knowing that the alliance was with Pappi herself. However, Kartik gets to know this, and he helps Kochu Kurup to cancel the wedding since he has an eye on her.

Plot

Meenakshi (Manju Warrier), after her father’s (Narendra Prasad) death joins Uma (Vinaya Prasad) at Krishnagudi, a small village in Andhra Pradesh. Pavithran(Balachandra Menon), husband of Uma is a Army officer posted there. The jovial and amiable atmosphere brings cheers and happiness back to Meenakshi. Giri (Jayaram), a colleague and family friend of Pavi falls in love with Meenakshi, but she is not ready to accept his feelings. Akhilachandran (Biju Menon), a spoiled cousin of Meenakshi was taken care by her father after the death of his parents. Her father always wanted her to get married to Akhil, but his extra possessive attitude and violent behaviors always created problems to her. Though she never had any soft feelings for him, Meenakshi had promised her father on his death bed that she will marry Akhil. But, Pavi and Uma now wants her to get married to Giri, who is a soft spoken and fun loving guy. Akhil is now missing for long time. Pavi puts forward a suggestion. He wants Meenakshi to wait for six months. If Akhil don’t turn up for next six months, Meenakshi should accept Giri, to which she agrees. She mails Akhil about this, but no reply comes back.

Within this time, both Giri and Meenakhi gets so close. Suddenly one evening Renji (Siddique) turns up at the quarter of Giri. Renji, a close friend of Akhil informs Giri that Akhil had met with an accident on his way to Krishnagudi and is paralyzed completed. He was under the care of Renji, but now as he has to leave to US, Akhil should handed over to Meenakshi. Giri is completely broken down after hearing the news. Giri alson with Jose (Jagadish), his room mate takes Akhil to a vacant quarter near by and decides to take care of him, without letting Meenakshi or Pavi know about it. Akhil, who is now a completely changed man doesn’t want himself to be a burden on Meenakshi and wants her to join with Giri. But when disclosed to her, Meenakshi thinks it is her moral responsibility to take care of Akhil and decides to leave Krishnagudi to Kerala, with Akhil. But at the last moment, from the train, Akhil, using all his power pushes her out, asking her to join Giri for rest of her life.
